Responsibilities The Cardiovascular Sonographer 2 delivers sound patient care practices according to policies to ensure patient safety, maintains efficient departmental operations, and keeps equipment and work areas safe. Assists physicians in performing examinations using standard protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile techniques, as evidenced by physician satisfaction. Troubleshoots equipment, reports to biomedical engineering/vendor, performs routine maintenance of echo vascular equipment for quality imaging as evidenced by physician and exam results. Understands echo vascular principles, anatomy and pathology, utilizing appropriate techniques for optimal examinations; adheres to policies ensuring standards meet regulatory oversight. Acts as preceptor and resource for students and sonographers; demonstrates advanced imaging skillsets such as 3D, strain, contrast use and assists cardiologist with TEE studies. Performs additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduate of accredited diagnostic medical sonography program or five years specialized training in a healthcare setting. License: One of the following required upon start: ARDMS with Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) ARDMS with Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with RCS Certification for Echo Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with RVS Certification for Vascular Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association upon start.
