Position: Director, MyGym

Location: Levittown, NY 11756
Salary: $65,000–$70,000 base salary, based on experience
Bonus: $15,000–$20,000 annually
Benefits: Health Insurance, 401(k), 2 Weeks PTO

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and results-driven Director to oversee the daily operations and overall success of our gym. The Director will take an owner-minded approach to the business, leading the team, developing staff, driving customer satisfaction, and helping achieve financial and operational goals.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys working with people, developing a team, creating a positive environment, and taking ownership of the day-to-day success of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead by example and establish high standards for the entire team.
• Create a fun, positive, and motivating environment.
• Train, coach, and oversee team members on an ongoing basis.
• Conduct team meetings, one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and staff development.
• Delegate responsibilities effectively and hold team members accountable.
• Develop employees and help them progress into higher-level roles.
• Recognize and motivate employees to maintain strong morale and retention.
• Work closely with the Owner to establish business, financial, and team goals.

Hiring & Training

• Create and post job advertisements and follow up with applicants.
• Interview, select, and onboard new team members.
• Oversee new-hire training and development plans.
• Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Conduct employee evaluations and identify opportunities for growth.
• Ensure staff consistently follows company training and operational standards.

Customer Experience & Class Quality

• Ensure families and customers receive an exceptional experience.
• Maintain high standards for classes, programs, safety, and customer service.
• Monitor class quality through observations and evaluations.
• Build strong relationships with families and encourage customer retention.
• Follow up with members who have been absent and identify opportunities to prevent cancellations.

Sales & Marketing

• Establish and track monthly and quarterly sales goals.
• Monitor team sales performance and provide coaching when needed.
• Oversee the trial and enrollment process.
• Follow up with prospective customers and no-shows.
• Assist with marketing emails, website updates, community outreach, and lead-generation events.
• Plan ahead for upcoming camps, events, parties, and enrollment opportunities.

Operations & Administration

• Create and manage employee schedules.
• Handle schedule changes and time-off requests.
• Ensure daily operations run efficiently and effectively.
• Respond to phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries.
• Monitor class rosters, attendance, trials, and daily sales activity.
• Assist with payment processing and administrative/bookkeeping responsibilities.
• Maintain inventory and operate within established budgets.
• Ensure the facility is clean, organized, safe, and properly maintained.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Sales, business development, or customer service experience is a plus.
• Must be dependable, energetic, proactive, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities.
• Must be available to work Monday through Saturday during operating hours .
