Position Overview

This position offers scheduled hours of 36 hours per week following an initial week of orientation. Please note that there is no guarantee of hours.

Job Description

This role requires a candidate with an active State of Hawaii nursing license. The assignment is for a Progressive Care Unit that consists of a 15-bed unit with a step-down ICU and telemetry capabilities. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step Down ICU.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care
• Monitor telemetry readings and perform telemetry strip readings
• Conduct fingerstick blood sugar tests

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech charting system
• Pyxis medication management
• BIPAP machines
• Continuous cardiac monitoring systems

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Experience in Progressive Care and telemetry is preferred
• ACLS certification is preferred
• Current PALS certification is preferred
• NIHSS certification is preferred

Floating Requirements

Registered nurses may be required to float to other acute units, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatric, ICU, and ER departments as necessary.

Dress Code

The dress code for this position is scrubs.

Additional Information

Candidates must arrive the Thursday before their start date to attend a mandatory employee health appointment on Friday. Please confirm availability to meet this schedule before accepting the offered start date.
