A established elder law and estate planning firm in the Atlanta/Marietta area is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join its growing team. The firm provides comprehensive legal support to clients navigating complex elder law, guardianship, and estate matters. This role is tailored for a detail-oriented paralegal who understands local Georgia probate court processes and can hit the ground running while receiving firm-specific training. The candidate's primary focus will be supporting the firm's guardianship/conservatorship practice while providing dedicated assistance on estate planning and probate files. Candidates with direct experience in probate and/or estate planning will be given priority, but the firm is also open to other backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

Conservatorship & Guardianship (70%)

• Draft, review, and file court petitions, motions, inventory reports, and annual accounting returns for adult and minor guardianship and conservatorship matters.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the firm, clients, court clerks, court-appointed evaluators, and guardians ad litem .
• Monitor probate dockets, track hearing dates, manage filing deadlines, and maintain strict compliance with local Georgia probate court procedures.

Estate Planning & Probate Administration (30%)

• Assist attorneys in drafting core estate planning documents, including wills, living trusts, financial powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
• Prepare court filings for probate estate administration, asset inventories, heir notifications, and closing discharge petitions.
• Gather client financial documentation and support case management from initial intake through file closure.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Experience with strong, demonstrated probate court experience (filing, managing case workflows, and interacting with court clerks/staff).
• Core Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of standard Georgia Probate Court, conservatorship/guardianship procedures, and foundational estate planning structures.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Georgia probate e-filing systems, document assembly software, and law firm case management platforms.
• Professional Attributes: Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of managing court deadlines and case progress with light initial oversight.
