Your Role on the Team Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of Facility Services, the Craftsman performs a variety of skilled mechanical tasks in the repair, servicing, and general maintenance of the hospital physical plant and equipment, such as boilers, pumps, air conditioning equipment, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. What It Takes to be Successful Required Qualifications Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties. Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System. Must have a valid California Driver's License. Three years of previous hospital maintenance experience required. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of university and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms. High school or vocational school graduate preferred. Courses related to mechanics, refrigeration, and boiler operation desirable.
