Neonatal - Perinatal Medicine Physician

Neonatologist Opportunity in Fredericksburg, VA Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an experienced, board-certified Neonatologist to join and help lead a growing Level III NICU program at a reputable medical center in Fredericksburg. This role offers a flexible week-on/week-off schedule and home call model, with the added convenience of easy access to Washington, D.C. Job Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive neonatal care in a Level III NICU and newborn nursery. Attend and manage high-risk deliveries in collaboration with OB and perinatal teams. Deliver patient-centered care to a daily census of approximately 9 11 patients. Work within an 8-bed Level III NICU and 10 LDR couplet care rooms. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including: 2 Neonatologists 4.5 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners Nursing and respiratory therapy staff Mentor and support NICU nursing and respiratory teams as patient acuity grows. Participate in the development and implementation of clinical protocols. Contribute to strategic growth and expansion of the NICU program. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts. Maintain strong communication with hospital leadership and staff. Optional participation in moonlighting opportunities across Virginia. Qualifications: Board Certified in Pediatrics. Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatology. Virginia Medical License (or willingness to obtain). Clean Malpractice/License History Highly preferred. Neonatology experience Required (experienced candidates only). Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active) Required. DEA Must be obtained prior to start. License and Certification Requirements: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Implied standard for neonatology roles. DEA license Typically required for prescribing.
