How you’ll make an impact in this role Conduct comprehensive pre-surgical assessments by evaluating patient health status, medical histories, and medications to proactively identify potential risks and ensure clinical readiness for anesthesia and surgery. Empower patients and families through clear, empathetic pre-operative education, ensuring they fully understand their upcoming procedure, required preparations, and post-operative recovery plans. Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to initiate physician consultations and order targeted pre-operative testing, guaranteeing all necessary clinical data is secured well before the surgery date. Guide logistical and discharge planning with patients or their representatives regarding timing, transportation, and inpatient stays to ensure a seamless, stress-free transition through the care continuum. What minimum requirements you’ll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
