Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This rewarding opportunity follows the traditional school year, running from September through June, with contract hours from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm. You’ll lead a self-contained 12:1:1 classroom, making a true impact on students who benefit from your expertise and commitment.

What we're looking for:

• Valid New York State Special Education teaching certification appropriate for middle and high school grades
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing IEPs
• Strong skills in behavior management and differentiated instruction
• Familiarity and comfort working alongside a full-time Teaching Assistant and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Background with students who require intensive academic and behavioral support

Key responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction within a 12:1:1 self-contained setting, ensuring academic goals and IEP requirements are met
• Develop and adapt lesson plans that engage and support diverse learning needs and styles
• Collaborate daily with a dedicated Teaching Assistant and other professionals, including therapists and related service providers
• Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom culture
• Monitor and document student progress, sharing timely updates with families and team members
• Implement behavior intervention strategies and contribute to a safe, respectful learning environment
