What you will doYou will serve as the senior HR leader for the plant and a trusted partner to Plant leadership, translating business priorities into a people strategy that supports safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture.You will lead labor and employee relations in a union-represented environment, ensuring constructive collaboration, contract administration, issue resolution, and consistent application of policies and practices. You will shape workforce planning, talent and succession, organizational design, and change management to meet production needs while strengthening engagement and retention.You will ensure strong HR governance across compliance, ethics, and risk management, and drive continuous improvement of HR processes using data, insights, and feedback from the shop floor.We are looking for a seasoned, multi-functional people leader who has earned credibility on the manufacturing floor. You understand the complexity of union environments, the urgency of production operations, and what it takes to lead across HR, Safety, and Training while keeping people and business outcomes at the center.Your future teamA site-based HR team supporting manufacturing operations and shared services partnersClose collaboration with Plant leadership, line managers, and union representativesA strong network across Volvo Group HR for expertise in labor relations, rewards, and developmentPartners in HSE, Quality, Finance, and Industrial Engineering to align people and business outcomesCross-functional teams supporting safety, training, workforce development, and operational performanceWho are you?You are a strategic and hands-on HR leader who is comfortable spending time where the work happens and who builds credibility through listening, fairness, and follow-through. You bring deep experience in manufacturing HR and labor relations and understand the unique demands of supporting a large hourly workforce in a union environment.You are equally comfortable thinking strategically with senior leaders and rolling up your sleeves to address issues on the manufacturing floor. You can navigate complexity with a calm, structured approach, build strong relationships with union partners, and balance the needs of employees, leaders, and the business.You have experience leading multiple people-focused functions and building high-performing teams. You use data to guide decisions, communicate clearly with different audiences, and coach leaders to develop their teams, strengthen accountability, and improve performance. You act with integrity, protect confidentiality, and role-model Volvo Group values in everyday decisions.What you bringEducationBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field requiredMaster’s degree or advanced HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR strongly preferredExperience10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5+ years in a site-level HR leadership roleSignificant experience supporting a large, hourly unionized workforce in a manufacturing environment requiredDemonstrated experience in labor relations, including collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations and grievance managementExperience leading multiple functions with direct accountability across HR, Safety, Training, or related people-focused functionsProven track record of building and developing high-performing teamsExperience developing workforce strategies and managing high-volume hourly talent pipelines in a manufacturing environment preferredWhat’s in it for you?A key leadership role with direct impact on a flagship manufacturing siteOpportunities to influence transformation across a global industrial groupCompetitive compensation and benefits, including health coverage and retirement plansA culture that prioritizes safety, continuous improvement, and personal developmentAt the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $185,000 - $210,000 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
