Medical Support Assistant (Advanced)

VA Careers - Medical Support Assistant
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- PFC AMSA utilizes knowledge of ED, surgical and procedural, and outpatient procedures and processes to accurately schedule visits in accordance with existing procedures and guidelines.
- Communicates Ward Transfers and Provider Changes.
- Obtains and assigns beds for admissions.
- Communicate DRIP capacity status for provider admission assignments.
- Fax Interfacility Transfers to Community Care Facilities.
- Responds to admission and transfer requests and ensures correct encounters are created for admission, creating admission encounters in FEHR as needed.
- Reviews medical records for completeness, accuracy, and correct sequence.
- Corrects patient identification within the medical record.
- Receives, refers and files the results of various tests in patient's chart, keeping the chart current and accurate.
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
