One of our clients, a District of Columbia government agency, is seeking a Program Analyst to support its Operations team on a temporary engagement. The agency works in the public sector workforce development space and has grown considerably in recent years, expanding both its programming and its oversight responsibilities. This role pairs day to day administrative support for the Operations team with program performance tracking, reporting, budget support, compliance review, and stakeholder coordination. The position is on site in Washington, DC.

Administrative Support Responsibilities

This position performs a wide range of administrative support activities for the WIC Operations team, including the following.

• Maintain files and records of all research, meetings, and analysis activities.

• Answer and direct phone calls.

• Organize and schedule appointments.

• Plan meetings and take detailed minutes.

• Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms.

• Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.

• Develop and maintain a filing system.

• Update and maintain office policies and procedures.

• Order office supplies and research new deals and suppliers.

• Maintain contact lists.

• Book travel arrangements.

• Submit and reconcile expense reports.

• Provide general support to visitors.

• Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients.

• Liaise with executive and senior administrative assistants to handle requests and queries from senior managers.

Program Analyst Responsibilities

• Data and Performance Analysis: Track program metrics against strategic goals to measure effectiveness and pinpoint operational bottlenecks.

• Reporting and Presentations: Compile findings into dashboards and reports to provide leadership with actionable insights for decision making.

• Budgeting and Resource Management: Assist with forecasting budgets, allocating resources, and ensuring cost effectiveness.

• Policy and Procedure Evaluation: Review records, internal policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and suggest operational improvements.

• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a liaison between management, vendors, and cross functional teams to resolve issues and streamline workflows.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma required.

• Knowledge of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

• Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.

• Working knowledge of office equipment, such as printers and fax machines.

• Proficiency in MS Office, with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint in particular.

• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.

• Attention to detail and problem solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional qualification as an administrative assistant or secretary.
