Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Role: Responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures, explaining protocols to patients, and ensuring safety and accuracy during examinations. Assists physicians with imaging, follows sterile techniques, and recognizes emergent issues to ensure optimal outcomes. Utilizes electronic medical records and imaging systems to accurately identify patients and maintain radiation safety within ALARA limits. Responsibilities Explain procedures to patients and address questions to ease anxiety. Assist in examinations using standard protocols, isolation precautions, and sterile techniques. Recognize and respond to clinical or emergent issues affecting exams. Ensure accurate patient identification via electronic systems. Apply radiation protection procedures including shielding and collimation. Qualifications & Skills Associate Degree in Nuclear Medicine from an accredited program. Registered or eligible for registration as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT or ARRT-N) within one year. Current BLS certification. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Licensing as required by state regulations. Key Duties Perform nuclear medicine procedures, ensure patient safety, maintain accurate records, and adhere to safety protocols.
