Job Description Job Description Estimator for a Remodeling Contractor Key Responsibilities Cost Calculation Calculate total costs for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment. Analyze project documents such as blueprints and specifications to prepare detailed estimates. Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination Gather quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to inform cost estimates. Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to secure the best deals. Seek out appropriate vendors as needed for newly requested products Project Monitoring Monitor ongoing project costs and adjust estimates as necessary to account for changes in scope or market conditions. Ensure compliance with budget of subcontractors and suppliers’ invoices Required Skills and Qualifications ** Skill/Qualification Description ** Education: High School Diploma-Skills and knowledge in Construction Management. Experience: Previous experience in construction estimating is preferred, understanding and reading Blueprints. Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., CoConstruct, Bluebeam, ProEst). Mathematical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate calculations. Attention to Detail: Ability to identify discrepancies in project documents. The Estimator will maintain working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Company Description We are a remodeling contractors, primarily Residential & Light Commercial. We remodel whole houses, kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, we do additions, install exterior doors and windows, tear downs and re-builds.
