We are actively hiring experienced Data Center Technician II (L2) professionals to support a large-scale, cutting-edge data center environment in San Jose, California . This role is ideal for technicians with hands-on experience troubleshooting server hardware, performing break/fix repairs, supporting deployments, and maintaining critical infrastructure in production data center environments.

Position Overview

As a Data Center Technician II, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving server hardware issues, performing rack and stack activities, supporting cabling infrastructure, and collaborating with operations and network teams to maintain uptime within a mission-critical data center environment.

This is a true L2 troubleshooting role , requiring independent problem-solving and hardware diagnostics, not simply component replacement or remote hands support.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and isolate server hardware failures
• Perform break/fix repairs on production servers and infrastructure equipment
• Replace and validate hardware components including drives, memory, power supplies, NICs, and other server components
• Rack, stack, install, and configure servers and network equipment
• Perform structured cabling, cable management, and cable replacement activities
• Install and update firmware on servers and hardware devices
• Configure IP addressing and basic server setup
• Support network administrators with cabling, optics, and hardware-related requests
• Document work performed through ticketing systems
• Follow change management and operational procedures
• Assist with deployment and installation projects as required

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of Data Center Technician, Data Center Operations, or related experience
• Hands-on server hardware troubleshooting and break/fix experience
• Experience diagnosing and isolating hardware failures
• Rack and stack experience within a data center environment
• Copper and fiber cabling experience
• Experience working from support tickets and incident queues
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting GPU, AI, HPC, or high-performance computing environments
• Liquid-cooled data center experience
• Linux experience
• Familiarity with data center monitoring tools
• Enterprise or hyperscale data center experience

Permanent Overnight Schedule

Option 1

• Wednesday - Saturday
• 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Option 2

• Sunday - Wednesday
• 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM

This is an ongoing overnight position and is not intended to transition to daytime hours.

This is a Contract position based out of Santa Clara, CA.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $37.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
