May be responsible for a single highly technical and complex piece of research equipment. May review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel. Performs other job-related duties as required. We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow with interest and experience in computational and machine learning approaches for use in the quantitative measurement of human learning and its associated behaviors and motivational constructs. A strong applicant will hold a Ph.D. in computer science or a related field and will have prior experience collaborating with large, interdisciplinary teams. The candidate will be a strong self‑starter who is capable of both working independently and of mentoring graduate students. This candidate should have experience with both human learning data as well as with human language data. Preferably, this will include a track record of research publications involving both traditional natural language processing techniques and large language models. Experience researching languages other than English would be a plus. This job will include opportunities to develop new skills, including those related to project leadership, and may also include opportunities to teach, as negotiated with the department. Job Requirements Education Requires singular knowledge of machine learning and computational approaches to modeling human learning and language, normally acquired through attainment of a Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent formal training in a similar field that is directly related to research on human learning. MQ: Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in an recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
