Semester Lecturer

Job Title: Semester Lecturer Department: EHE | Human Sciences Administration Lecturer to teach SFHP Strength Training courses for the Department of Human Sciences AU26 Primary Duties: Serve as instructor of record for assigned section(s) which meet twice per week for 55 minutes each. The focus of this course is to teach fundamental strength training skills to beginners. Curriculum includes body weight training, stacked weight machines, barbell training, warm‑up and cool‑down activities. Instructor will monitor and facilitate student progress. Create and update course syllabus Create, maintain and modify course content in Canvas (as necessary) Provide timely feedback and grades on student assignments and skill testing Hold weekly office hours Communicate with and support students, being alert to those who may be falling behind Attend all scheduled class meetings throughout the semester Attend program meetings and trainings Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in physical education, Exercise Science or Sport Management A minimum of 5 years of experience teaching and/or coaching in strength training/conditioning Preferred: NSCA or ACSM certification in strength and conditioning Location: Physical Activity and Education Services - PAES (0245) Position Type: Temporary (Fixed Term) Scheduled Hours: 10 Shift: First Shift Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
