Responsibilities
- Confirm patient identity and exam verification before initiating the scan; adhere to department safety and procedure guidelines.
- Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic CT imaging and discuss any special instructions.
- Prepare patients, explain procedures, and assist with IVs when necessary; ensure patient comfort.
- Position patients and perform safe patient handling, including lifting or moving patients with limited mobility as needed.
- Operate CT equipment, acquire images, and ensure proper documentation in the electronic health record (EPIC); verify sending images to PACS upon exam completion.
- Maintain a clean, safe scanning area and uphold infection control and radiation safety practices.

Requirements
- Current NYS Radiologic Technologist license; must obtain prior to starting.
- Completion of formal Radiologic Technology education from an approved program; ARRT certification required.
- Injection therapy certification must be listed on the NYS license at time of submission (if applicable); injection certification preferred and may be completed during orientation.
- Two years of CT imaging experience; Level 1 Trauma Center experience preferred.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Knowledge of CT systems and familiarity with Philips and Siemens equipment preferred.
- Ability to work in a hospital setting, perform patient care tasks, and adhere to safety and privacy standards.
- Willingness to work the listed shift pattern and participate in on-call/callback duties, holidays, and occasional weekends.
