Senior Accountant

Position Overview

A growing and dynamic organization is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This role is responsible for supporting the monthly financial close process, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, preparing key financial reports, and assisting with process improvements and internal control initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, analytical mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, payroll, depreciation, amortization, and other recurring and non-recurring transactions.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances as needed.
• Support the monthly close process and assist with the preparation of financial statements.
• Create and maintain general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly gross margin and management reporting packages.
• Review revenue and expense accruals to ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP.
• Complete accounting system integrations and consolidation activities during the monthly close process.
• Prepare and file various tax and regulatory reports, including sales and business tax filings.
• Generate consolidated financial statements for a multi-entity, international organization.
• Assist with annual audit support, including preparation of schedules, financial statement disclosures, and responding to auditor requests.
• Develop and maintain documentation of accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Perform financial analysis and ad hoc reporting to support management decision-making.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support business initiatives and operational objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting, financial reporting, or corporate accounting.
• CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF statements, and data analysis functions.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is a plus.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and proactively identify issues and solutions.
