Construction Project Manager, Boiler & HVAC Systems

A licensed Master Plumber, Oil Burner Installer, and General Contractor serving New York City is hiring a Construction Project Manager to own commercial boiler, heating, and plumbing installation projects ranging from $2M to $20M, end-to-end. You'll run the office side of every project, estimating and budgeting, managing RFIs and submittals, and keeping the client updated, while partnering closely with the Superintendent who runs the field. This is a client-facing leadership seat with long-term growth and project bonuses.ResponsibilitiesOwn the full project lifecycle on commercial boiler, heating, and plumbing installation projects ranging from $2M to $20M, from estimating and bidding through closeoutBuild, manage, and update project budgets, schedules, and cost reportsReview and process RFIs, submittals, and shop drawingsEstimate, negotiate, and document change ordersPartner with the Superintendent and field team on sequencing, materials, and subcontractor scopesServe as the primary client contact, providing regular updates on schedule, budget, and progressLead project meetings with clients, engineers, architects, and city agenciesManage subcontractor and vendor contracts, invoicing, and pay applicationsSupport bidding and proposal development for new project opportunitiesDrive project closeout, punch list completion, and final documentationRequired Qualifications5+ years of project management experience in commercial mechanical, HVAC, boiler, or plumbing construction, with a contractor in those trades (not an electrical background)Strong background in commercial boilers, hydronic and steam heating systems, plumbing, or mechanical constructionExperience managing project budgets, schedules, and change orders on multi-million dollar projectsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and mechanical/plumbing plansStrong client-facing communication skillsProficient with project management and scheduling software (Procore, MS Project, or similar)PreferredExperience with cogeneration (CHP) systems, chillers, or general HVACPrior experience on prevailing wage, NYCHA, or affordable housing compliance projectsFamiliarity with field service platforms such as BuildOps or ServiceTitanBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related fieldCompensation and Benefits$130,000 to $160,000 base salaryProject performance bonus401(k) with company matchMedical, dental & vision insurancePaid Time OffLong-term career growthThis is a confidential search conducted on behalf of the hiring company.
