Make a Lasting Impact on Patients, Families, and Care Teams Are you passionate about helping children and adolescents with complex behavioral health needs achieve meaningful progress? Join our team as a Behavioral Health Consultant, where you'll serve as a clinical expert, consultant, and educator for patients whose behavioral challenges require specialized assessment and intervention beyond standard treatment approaches. In this highly collaborative role, you'll partner with psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, behavioral health specialists, social workers, and families to develop individualized, trauma-informed treatment strategies that improve safety, engagement, and outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to lead behavior assessment and intervention efforts across inpatient and residential settings while mentoring staff and advancing evidence-based behavioral care. What You’ll Do Lead Behavioral Assessment & Treatment Planning Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) for patients with complex behavioral, emotional, and trauma-related needs. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans that support patient safety, treatment engagement, and skill development. Analyze behavioral data and make treatment recommendations based on patient progress and clinical needs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to identify effective behavioral strategies and modify plans as needed. Provide expertise in crisis prevention, de-escalation, and behavioral safety planning. Serve as a Clinical Consultant & Behavioral Health Expert Act as a behavioral health resource across inpatient and residential programs. Partner with care teams to address challenging patient situations, prolonged admissions, and complex behavioral presentations. Participate in rounds, treatment planning meetings, care conferences, and case reviews. Provide consultation regarding behavioral safety, environmental supports, and behavior-focused treatment approaches. Support the development and management of programs for patients with extended lengths of stay and complex care needs. Educate, Mentor & Develop Others Coach and mentor behavioral health staff, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members in the implementation of behavior plans. Provide education on behavior management strategies, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, token economies, visual supports, DBT principles, and other evidence-based interventions. Promote consistency in treatment approaches across teams and settings. Serve as a role model and leader in behavioral health best practices. Partner with Patients & Families Collaborate with families to understand factors impacting treatment and recovery. Provide education and coaching regarding behavior management strategies, safety planning, and effective family engagement. Participate in family meetings, case conferences, and treatment discussions. Support successful transitions across levels of care and community reintegration efforts when appropriate. Ensure care is individualized, culturally responsive, developmentally appropriate, and family-centered. Drive Clinical Excellence & Innovation Lead or participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and patient outcome initiatives. Help develop innovative solutions that improve behavioral health care delivery and patient outcomes. Contribute to program development and advancement of behavioral services across the organization. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in behavior analysis, behavioral health, psychiatric care, developmental disabilities, or a related clinical setting. Preferred BCBA certification. Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing behavior intervention plans. Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in behavioral health, psychiatric, residential, educational, or healthcare environments.
