Job Overview A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Newport News, VA, to manage federal administrative claims under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act and the Defense Base Act. This role supports remote, hybrid, or on-site work arrangements, welcoming applicants licensed in any U.S. jurisdiction. Duties Litigate federal administrative claims from inception through resolution. Prepare cases for formal federal administrative proceedings. Represent clients and conduct hearings before Administrative Law Judges. Draft motions, briefs, and legal memoranda regarding federal acts. Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active State Bar license in good standing (any U.S. state). Experience with LHWCA, DBA, or the Administrative Procedure Act preferred. Strong oral advocacy, legal research, and writing skills. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Certifications Active State Bar license in good standing (any U.S. state).
