We Are NewCold, a global leader in cold chain logistics with a focus on the development and operation of large, highly automated cold storage.

Position Overview

The primary function of this position is to maneuver tractor trailers for the purpose of loading and unloading products while providing safety and security for the division yard and dock area. It is further required that above function be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and relationships with NewCold customers through active communication.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Maintain and maneuver equipment in the yard prior to dispatch and act in line with agreed procedures for ensuring quality of product is maintained at all times according to customer requirements.
• Ensure the safe movement of equipment around yard and warehouse through autonomous action to prevent accidents.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours.
• Maintain equipment while on site and track via the yard management system.
• Control product flow for the yard management system and implement remedial actions to maintain the flow of product.
• Drop and hook tractor to trailer.
• Inspect truck for defects, before and after trips and submit reports indicating truck condition.
• Coordinate equipment for maintenance and repair (must be able to perform light maintenance).
• Must be able to perform a DOT Pre-Trip inspection on Trailers
• Ensure scheduled jobs are completed on time and correctly and that products are loaded, unloaded and stored in a timely manner in line with customer performance standards.

Additional Tasks

• Assist the operation as required by the site, including:
• Load and unload trucks & containers.
• Assist colleagues in carrying out tasks.
• Help maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
• Continuously look for areas of improvement.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience

• 1+ year of experience in related field.

Education/Certification

• High School Diploma or GED.
