Career Services Student Assistant - Federal Work Study

Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Career Services department on the Dahlonega campus. The Career Services student worker will be the first point of contact for students, employers, faculty members and the community who may phone, visit, or email Career Services. The assistant will also input date, schedule appointments, assist at job fairs/career-related events, and assist with promotional items, including content for social media.

Responsibilities

• Learn about resources, events, and programs that Career Services offers to assist in marketing
• Warmly greet visitors and those phoning Career Services
• Respond promptly to email inquiries; provide prompt, courteous service in answering questions, scheduling appointments, checking in students and referring individuals to appropriate resources, departments or staff
• Help to create promotional materials for events and workshops. This includes creating videos for social media, creating slides/flyers for Campus TVs, and posting flyers around campus
• Help maintain appointments and assist students for our Nigel's Career Closet

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• They will need customer services skills including communication and interpersonal skills.
• They will need to demonstrate creativity and working knowledge or interest in learning editing software such as CapCut and Canva.
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Required Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
