Occupational Therapist - Pediatric Outpatient - CHOR Fredericksburg - PRN

Plan and implement a comprehensive treatment program that includes discharge planning, patient/family education, and recommendations for follow-up or continued care. Document results of the OT evaluation and services provided in accordance with hospital and department guidelines. Participate as a member of a self-directed departmental team and an interdisciplinary patient care team. Provide clinical instruction to OT and OTA students as needed. Provide training and education to department and hospital staff. Set up schedule and manage time, report in interdisciplinary rounds, set goals for routine diagnoses, complete routine documentation, and interact with interdisciplinary team and self-directed work team. Supervise Rehab Technicians, COTA staff, volunteers and students doing clinical rotations if applicable. Licensure, Certification, and Registration Requirements Licensed (or licensed eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational Therapist. Completion of licensing requirements for new graduates within 1 year of graduation. Maintenance of licensure once granted. Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area. Experience Required: New graduate to up to 2 years of work experience as an Occupational Therapist. Preferred: Previous affiliation or work experience at a similar facility. Education and Training Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy. Preferred: Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy. Independent Actions Evaluation and treatment of patients with routine diagnoses. Setting schedule and managing time. Reporting in interdisciplinary rounds. Goal setting for routine diagnoses. Completion of routine documentation. Interaction with the interdisciplinary team and self-directed work team. Customer interaction. Additional Position Requirements Schedules and work hours will be established with your specific Manager. Schedules, including weekends and holidays, will be required based on the unit’s organizational and staffing needs. Age-specific groups served: As appropriate based on unit assignment. Physical, Mental, and Emotional Requirements Physical: Lifting 50-100 lbs. Frequent bending, walking (distance), climbing (steps, ladder, other), reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Mental/Sensory: Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speak clearly, write legibly, reading, logical thinking. Emotional: Fast-paced environment, steady pace, able to handle multiple priorities, frequent and intense customer interactions, noisy environment, able to adapt to frequent change.
