Surgery - General Nurse Practitioner

Locums - Lebanon, Pennsylvania, NP/PA Cardiothoracic Surgery Opening

Coverage Dates:

• October 23 at 5:00 p.m.-October 26 at 7:00 a.m.
• October 30 at 5:00 p.m.-November 2 at 7:00 a.m.

Coverage & Setting:

• Hospital-based Cardiothoracic Surgery coverage
• 163-bed hospital
• Adult patients, ages 18+
• 3 weekends of coverage needed per month
• Surgeon available for backup following consultation

Schedule & Call Requirements:

• Weekend coverage: Friday at 5:00 p.m.-Monday at 7:00 a.m.
• 24-hour call coverage
• Average callback/rounding workload: Approximately 4 hours per day

Clinical Scope & Procedures:

• Vein harvesting
• Coverage includes urgent surgical cases
• Patients may transition directly from the cath lab to surgery when urgent intervention is required
• Stable patients may be managed until definitive treatment on Monday
• Postoperative care includes patients transitioning from ICU through discharge home

Support & Systems:

• APP support
• EMR: Epic
• Credentialing timeframe: Approximately 90 days
• Temporary privileges may be available with a clean file

Requirements:

• Board Certification - Required
• Active Pennsylvania license - Required
• DEA - Required
• Minimum 3 years of experience - Required
• Acute Care Certificate not required
