Assistant General Manager

Want to join a Michelin-starred team? We are looking for an Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team at Rooster & Owl. Our ideal candidate is someone who is warm/welcoming, detail orientated, has great leadership/interpersonal skills, and most importantly loves good food/cocktails/wines. Fine dining experience and wine knowledge is essential. Schedule is dinner only Tuesday through Saturday, and about 50 to 55 hours a week on average.
Some areas of responsibilities:
- hiring and interviewing potential FOH candidates
- managing reservations and guest communications
- managing and training a small FOH staff
- interacting with guests and ensuring that we are exceeding their expectations
- being the glue between the BOH and the FOH to ensure we have a harmonious team
- assisting with the beverage program (small cocktail and wine list)
About us:
We are a chef-owned New American concept that has garnered a great deal of attention from the media, including retaining one Michelin star for the last five consecutive years. One Michelin Star in 2021-16, #2 on Washington Post Dining Guide, Essential 38 from Eater DC, Semi-Finalist from James Beard for Best New Restaurant, and multiple RAMMY nominations just to name a few. We have 49 seats in the dining room and 6 at the bar. We are open Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday/Monday off every week. We are dinner only, which means no lunch and NO BRUNCH! EVER! Our cuisine focuses on local and seasonal ingredients with global influences, and the bar will feature craft cocktails and a small wine list based on the same philosophy.
