Role Description The Paralegal will work on-site at the firm’s Carbondale, IL office in a full-time capacity, supporting attorneys with case preparation and client matters. Daily responsibilities include drafting and formatting legal documents, organizing case files, and managing deadlines and court filings. The role involves conducting legal research, reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness, and summarizing findings for attorney review. The Paralegal will also communicate with clients, courts, and other parties, schedule appointments, and assist with general administrative tasks related to case management. This position requires consistent collaboration with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient and effective legal services. Qualifications A foundation in Law and familiarity with legal procedures and terminology. Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation and Document Review, including drafting, formatting, and revising legal materials. Excellent Communication skills for interacting with attorneys, clients, courts, and colleagues. Solid Research abilities, including legal research using online databases and case law resources. Paralegal certificate or associate/bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field required. High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Competence with standard office software and legal practice management tools. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
