Operations Supervisor

Position Summary: Based in Arlington, TX the Operations Supervisor will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Plant Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed. Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Provides leadership and oversight for assigned shift operations to support safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
• Assists with operations, control, and monitoring of heat treating and related equipment as required and written in procedures, shop travelers, and/or customer paperwork.
• Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
• Coordinates and prioritizes shift activities to maintain workflow and communicate production status, issues, and needs to management.
• Supports Daily Management (SQDC) activities through collection, communication, and follow-up of production, safety, quality, and delivery information.
• Assists with daily tracking of equipment utilization, downtime, and work in process.
• Provides limited support for contract review activities, traveler verification, and job status communication as directed.
• Assists with resolution and follow-up of safety observations, T-Cards, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Performs and/or coordinates daily operational inspections including forklifts, cranes, furnaces, and related equipment.
• Instructs and assists operators in proper processing techniques, safety practices, and standard work procedures.
• Brings unusual problems, equipment concerns, quality issues, or irregularities to the attention of management.
• Promotes safety, accountability, teamwork, and good housekeeping practices throughout the shift.
• Maintains effective communication and shift handoff between production shifts and management.
• Performs general supervisory duties including task assignment, work coordination, and employee support during assigned shift hours.
• Operates, controls, and monitors equipment as needed or required.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers’ inventory and will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

• This position must meet ITAR compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years supervisory experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience in heat treating or a related industry preferred.
• Must be able to effectively supervise heat treaters and/or other designated employees by demonstrating strong leadership qualities, including active listening, observation, patience, objectivity, and responsiveness.
• Advanced knowledge of heat treating processes, testing procedures, and commercial, aircraft, and aerospace materials preferred.
• Working knowledge of metallurgy, temperature controls, and related processes preferred.
• Proficient computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Must be flexible to work overtime and any shift, including weekends, as needed.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

• Must be able to work in a standing and/or sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.
