Job Summary:

The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) will represent the company to patients and provide a positive, professional experience while performing blood collection and specimen processing duties. The position requires excellent phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

The Phlebotomist I will collect quality blood samples, prepare specimens for laboratory testing, maintain required documentation, and follow established safety, confidentiality, and specimen-handling procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection safely, accurately, and professionally.
• Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.
• Demonstrate excellent phlebotomy skills, including the ability to collect specimens from pediatric and geriatric patients .
• Explain collection procedures to patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence .
• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing.
• Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and specimen information.
• Follow established practices, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Protect the confidentiality and accuracy of patient information .
• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
• Provide excellent customer service and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
• Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Demonstrate process excellence, organizational commitment, and attention to detail .
• Provide flexibility based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime when required.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited school required.
• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Strong hands-on phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients .
• Ability to perform quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment .
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Keyboarding/data entry experience required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
