Corpus Christi and its beaches are just 40 miles to the northeast, and the border with Mexico is 120 miles to the south at Brownsville or 119 miles to the west at Laredo.Position OverviewThe Events Coordinator II, under general supervision, provides central coordination of symposia, lectureships, and conferences for the King Ranch® Institute for Ranch Management. This position is responsible for planning, marketing, and executing high-quality events that advance KRIRM's outreach and educational activities. The Events Coordinator II serves as the primary liaison between the Institute and event clients before, during, and after events, ensuring a successful experience for all participants.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEvent Coordination & MarketingCoordinates and markets large events and conferences, including scheduling, receiving/processing space requests, contract negotiation, registrations, and service requirements and deliveries.Engages in event promotion on print, electronic, and social media platforms.Client LiaisonProvides on-site customer liaison during events.Coordinates pre- and post-event details and reviews with customers.Calendar & Logistics ManagementMaintains and coordinates the centralized events calendar. Coordinates site safety and security for events.Policy & Administrative SupportMakes recommendations for policy and procedure implementation related to event planning and delivery.Other DutiesThe above represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions. Other duties may be assigned.QualificationsRequired EducationBachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Required ExperienceTwo years of related experience in event planning and marketing, including related supervisory experience.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience in a higher education, nonprofit, or agricultural organization.Experience coordinating logistics such as catering, audiovisual equipment, transportation, and lodging.Familiarity with virtual and hybrid event platforms (e.g., Zoom Webinars, Microsoft Teams).Working knowledge of graphic design or marketing tools for event promotionKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.Ability to present information clearly and concisely.Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel spreadsheet applications.Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.Other RequirementsPhysical RequirementsMust be able to move event equipment and materials (up to 40 lbs.).Ability to travel independently to events and off-site locations as needed.Other Requirements and FactorsMay require occasional travel and work beyond normal office hours, including weekends to support special projects/events.This position is security sensitiveThis position will require export-control authorization prior to starting employment.This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures.All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirementsWhy Join the Javelina Nation?Texas A&M University–Kingsville offers a supportive, mission-driven culture focused on excellence in teaching, research, and service.
