The Police Recruit position within the Police Department performs the following tasks:Learn operations of the Police Department first-hand through observation and participation in a wide variety of police activities.Serve in a training capacity while attending the Police Academy.Below are the testing dates scheduled for this application period.Physical and Written Test Dates:Thursday, June 11, 2026Wednesday, July 8, 2026Saturday, August 1, 2026If you are unable to attend one of the listed test dates, you may be eligible to complete the testing at another time, please email View email address on click.appcast.io to request an alternative date.Testing InformationBelow is information about the testing process.You are required to visit to create a profile and complete the AZPOST Personal History Form. You will be required to submit your AZPOST PH User ID Number prior to the testing date.Appropriate attire for the entire testing date is physical fitness attire.Physical TestIf an applicant does not pass the physical on their first attempt, they will be eligible to retake the test prior to being given a final offer.The physical test consists of the following events.1.5 mile run – 14 minutes 40 secondsPush-ups in 1 minute – 31Sit-ups in 1 minute – 34Written TestThe written test has a maximum time of 3 hours.Oral BoardsApplicants that pass the physical and written tests are eligible to be scheduled for an oral board. Dates for the oral board are listed below and may be conducted virtually, if you live out of state.Wednesday, June 17, 2026Wednesday, July 15, 2026Thursday, August 6, 2026Background InvestigationsApplicants will be scored based on the following criteria.
