Logistics Analyst

Talascend is currently seeking a Logistics Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Santa Ana, California . Overview The role involves monitoring and analyzing operational and financial indexes within a logistics environment, supporting supply chain coordination, and investigating claims to ensure efficient workflow and problem resolution. Responsibilities Monitor and analyze key operational and financial indexes regularly. Find root causes for discrepancies between actual performance and forecasts. Analyze issues, prepare reports, and recommend actions as requested by team leadership. Investigate claim requests to determine validity. Communicate with vendors to recover on claims. Gather and analyze claims-related documentation. Support the preparation of ad-hoc reports. Examine documents, materials, and products to assess completeness and accuracy. Review production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine resource requirements. Record production data including volume, raw material consumption, and quality control measures. Revise production schedules as needed due to design changes or resource shortages. Distribute schedules and work orders to relevant departments. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, economics, business, finance, or a related field. 1-3 years of experience in planning, risk management, or finance within a logistics environment (preferred). Previous experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to apply accounting and mathematical principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently or within cross-functional teams. Experience with SAP and supply chain management or financial planning systems (highly desired). Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PPT. Attention to detail and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing or working with enterprise planning or financial systems. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
