Senior Patent Agent- Biologics

Neurocrine Biosciences seeks a Senior Patent Agent to provide intellectual property support for biologics research and development programs. The role involves drafting and prosecuting patent applications, developing global patent strategies, and partnering with cross-functional teams to protect company innovations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary intellectual property partner for assigned biologics programs and provide patent counseling
• Draft, file, and prosecute US and international patent applications for biologics including peptides, antibodies, and gene therapies
• Identify patentable inventions in collaboration with discovery and development teams
• Conduct prior art searches, analyze competitor patent portfolios, and support strategic IP due diligence
• Review publications and regulatory filings for potential intellectual property impacts

Requirements

• PhD in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related life-sciences discipline
• Patent experience supporting biologic drugs from in-house or law firm settings
• Registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office
• Strong understanding of patent prosecution processes and sound judgment in IP matters
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and patent prosecution technology platforms
• Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple matters and meet competing deadlines

Compensation: $136,300–$186,000 base salary annually, plus 20% target bonus and equity participation
