Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Advanced Technical Support & Escalation
  • Serve as one of the primary escalation points for complex LMS, integration, and instructional technology issues in collaboration with Instructional Design and Technology leadership
  • Troubleshoot system-level and cross-platform issues involving LMS tools, integrations, and course functionality 
  • Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement sustainable solutions 
• Course Design & Development Leadership
  • Lead the development or revision of complex or high-impact courses in collaboration with subject matter experts, instructional designers and multimedia specialists 
  • Design and build advanced, interactive learning content using LMS tools and authoring platforms (e.g., Articulate Rise, Storyline) 
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in instructional design, accessibility, and usability 
• LMS & Systems Expertise
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for LMS functionality and supported instructional technologies 
  • Perform advanced LMS troubleshooting, tool configuration, and course optimization 
  • Support testing and validation of new features, updates, and integrations in partnership with Instructional Design & Technology leadership
• LTI Integrations & Technical Oversight
  • Co-lead troubleshooting and optimization of complex LTI integrations and external tools 
  • Collaborate with vendors and IT teams to resolve advanced technical issues 
  • Establish and document best practices for integration setup and support 
• Training, Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
  • Provide advanced training and consultation to faculty on course design and instructional technologies 
  • Mentor Educational Technologists I and II and support their professional development 
  • Develop and maintain advanced documentation, standards, and training materials 
• Process Improvement & Collaboration
  • Identify and implement improvements to workflows, support processes, and course quality 
  • Contribute to evaluation and piloting of new instructional technologies 
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, IT staff, and academic stakeholders 
• Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support departmental and institutional needs

Education

• Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business, Information Technology, Multimedia Production, Human Resources, Communications or a related field.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional technology, LMS support, or course development 
• Extensive experience designing and developing courses 
• Advanced experience with LMS platforms and instructional technologies 
• Significant experience with LTI integrations and third-party tools 
• Experience mentoring staff or providing advanced guidance to peers 
• Experience handling complex or ambiguous technical and instructional challenges
• Advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills
• Advanced technical troubleshooting and systems thinking 
• Expertise in authoring platforms (e.g., Articulate Rise, Storyline) 
• Ability to manage complex issues across systems and stakeholders 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills 
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as well as make informed decisions in a remote setting
