Dishwasher

The Halyard at Sound View Greenport | Greenport, NY

The Halyard at Sound View is looking for a reliable and hardworking  Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. This role is an essential part of keeping our restaurant running smoothly by maintaining clean, organized, and sanitary dish and kitchen areas.

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Keep the dishwashing area clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout each shift.
• Assist with maintaining overall cleanliness of the kitchen, including floors, work areas, and trash/recycling.
• Support the culinary team with basic kitchen cleaning and organization as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
• Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Communicate with the culinary team to ensure clean dishes and equipment are available when needed.
• Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining attention to cleanliness and safety.
• Complete opening, closing, and cleaning duties as assigned.

• Reliable, dependable, and ready to be part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving items.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is helpful but  not required .
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
