Medicare Direct Sales Representative, Advanced

Your Role

The Medicare Direct Sales team help cultivate, maintain, and build relationships with Blue Shield of California’s customers as they navigate through their transition to Medicare. The Medicare Direct Sales Representative, Advanced, will report to the Medicare Direct Sales Manager. In this role you will be responding to inbound calls and online inquiries about Medicare health plans, place outbound calls based on leads, and complete the sales of products and/or services.

Responsibilities

Your Work

In this role, you will:

• Acquire new members through the direct sales process
• Contact customers through established marketing, referral and cold lead sources
• Interacts with customers via telephone, email and chat to sell healthcare products
• Work directly with consumers to explain health plans and educate them on their options
• Maintain subscriber relationship and provide follow-up customer service to existing and in- process accounts for purposes of retention
• Establish call plans and maintain a sales book of business; responsible for qualifying prospects and closing sale
• Work various outbound call campaigns to educate, sell or retain current members
• Provide customer service support and assistance to rectify prospect, member and provider service problems during the Special Enrollment Period, where capacity and volume warrant
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision

Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED or 1 year of additional relevant experience in lieu of a diploma
• Requires 5 years of previous experience
• Requires a Current active Accident & Health Agent or Sickness and Life license with California Department of Insurance
• Requires health insurance sales experience
• Requires Medicare knowledge
• Requires basic job knowledge of systems and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education
• Knowledge of Blue Shield of California products/services and eligibility requirements, highly desirable
