Accounting Manager (Contract) – Manufacturing Company | Milford, CT

A manufacturing company in Milford, CT is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who can oversee daily accounting operations, support month-end close, and help ensure accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements and internal reports
• Monitor inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing-related financial activity
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards
• Supervise or support AP, AR, and payroll-related accounting functions as needed
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insight and operational support
• Assist with audit preparation and special projects

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as an Accounting Manager or in a senior accounting role preferred
• Experience in manufacturing accounting, including inventory and cost accounting, strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of general ledger, financial reporting, and close processes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
• CPA or advanced accounting credentials are a plus
