Overview:

We are currently hiring an experienced Project Manager/Engineer for a long term, multi year contract opportunity in Newport News, VA.

Description:

This position is responsible for all aspects of Utility infrastructure projects: design, bid & award, construction, commissioning, LCAM, and close-out for projects.

• Manage construction and infrastructure projects from cradle to grave.
• Be able to step in at any stage of the project and carry it through to completion.
• Conducting studies, assessing risk, developing options and producing High Level Feasibility Estimates (HLFEs).
• Development of project plans to include project justification, scope, deliverables, risks, budget, and schedule.
• Collaborating with design agents, technical experts and other stakeholder on design and project execution plan.
• Ensuring that designs meet performance goals and constructability objectives.
• Ensuring safety of team members, shipyard employees and contractors in the implementation of projects.
• Ensuring that project comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Selection and oversight of qualified suppliers to implement project work in a safe and high quality manner.
• Ensuring quality and accuracy of contractor deliverables, to include designs and technical specifications.
• Financial aspects of the project to include, budgeting, progressing, and contractor payment approval.
• Schedule adherence and critical path management.

Qualifications:

• US Citizenship.
• BS in Engineering. (Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering preferred)
• 9 years of relevant experience. (Less years for a Master's Degree)
• Project Management experience.
• Knowledge of utility distribution systems and facility infrastructure design and construction.
• Experience in developing design criteria and contract documents (drawings, specifications, etc.), establishing execution strategies and selecting the appropriate contract/procurement approach for the type of project and desired contract deliverables.

This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA.

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Newport News,VA.
