Senior Accountant

About the Role We're partnering with a growing organization seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning key aspects of the month-end close process, driving process improvements, and supporting a fast-paced, evolving business environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to partner across functions to support accurate financial reporting and operational excellence. What You'll OwnPrepare and review month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement support Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate account variances to ensure accuracy and completeness Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages Analyze financial results and provide insight into account fluctuations and reporting trends Support the implementation and enhancement of accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures Partner with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiencies and streamline workflows Assist with annual audits and serve as a key point of contact for auditor requests Support special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives Help maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation to support a scalable finance organization What We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance CPA or CPA-track preferred 2-6 years of progressive accounting experience Public accounting experience and/or experience within a private equity-backed, high-growth, or complex operating environment preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles Experience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working within ERP systems Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and enhance accounting efficiencies Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
