Responsibilities Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection in a clear but courteous manner. Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles. Fully understand all physicians' orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer labels against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transport. Store specimen samples according to required temperature. Perform phlebotomy on all ages. Use hard sticks and needles. Data entry and processing. Detail oriented and good experience. Computer skills. Minimum of 2 years overall experience. Minimum Qualifications Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment as required in some states. Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED. #J-18808-Ljbffr
