Charge Nurse- Day Shift

What You’ll Be Doing The Charge Nurse schedules, leads, and oversees the day‑to‑day activities of the nursing care team, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. The role coordinates services with other members of the patient care team to promote integrated care, provides direct nursing services as appropriate, and may require on‑call shifts in accordance with labor laws. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Supervises and mentors staff during the assigned shift. Monitors and coordinates daily patient care activities of the unit under nursing leadership. Assigns staff and patients to ensure full coverage and effective care. Provides day‑to‑day guidance, consultation, and leadership. Leads, guides, and trains employees performing related work. Coordinates care with all units, nursing leadership, and maintenance of communication with the care team. Oversees and provides direct nursing care and/or related care and consultation to patients as required. Oversees quality assurance activities and ensures compliance with operational and regulatory standards. Participates in program development and in the implementation of operating policies and procedures. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies and promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety. Determines staffing levels and assignments based on census, acuity, and staff availability. Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues affecting desired outcomes. Must Haves Associate’s degree in nursing (required). Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of assignment (required). 1+ year of direct patient care experience (required). Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards (required). Knowledge of the specific day‑to‑day needs of eating disorder patients within the medical specialty area (required). Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures (required). Organizing and coordinating skills (required). Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse community (required). Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment requiring minimal supervision (required). Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment (required). Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email, and electronic medical records (required). If working in a Colorado Residential Child Care facility (RCCF) supervisory role, a college degree and a minimum of two years of experience in a childcare setting are required. Bonus Qualities Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred). Prior experience leading others (preferred). Compensation Colorado pay range: $44 – $53.90 per hour.
