2nd Shift Manufacturing Technician (Entry-Level, cGMP) – Fremont, CA | 6-Month Contract
Location: Fremont, CA (Onsite) Shift: 2nd Shift (Sun–Wed)
Sun–Tues: 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM
Wed: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Hours: 38 hours/week Duration: 4-Month Contract Company: Sigma Inc.
Job Overview
Sigma Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Technician to support downstream biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations in a cGMP-regulated environment. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for candidates interested in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing careers.
You will perform hands-on production tasks, support equipment preparation, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards in a fast-paced, team-oriented facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute basic downstream manufacturing operations for bulk drug substance production
- Perform weighing, dispensing, parts cleaning, and equipment setup
- Support kit assembly, staging, and material handling
- Assist with CIP (Clean-In-Place) and SIP (Sterilize-In-Place) processes (with supervision)
- Prepare and transfer buffers and solutions
- Maintain and clean manufacturing and analytical equipment
- Stock materials, manage consumables, and discard expired reagents
- Update and maintain controlled SOP documentation
- Identify and report process deviations or equipment issues
- Follow cGMP, cGDP, and safety compliance standards
- Maintain clean and organized production areas using 5S principles
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and "right-first-time" mindset
- Basic computer skills and ability to document work accurately
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work 2nd shift and flexible schedules in a 24/7 environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related field
- 1+ year experience in a cGMP-regulated industry (pharma, biotech, or medical device)
- Familiarity with:
- Cleanroom environments
- Manufacturing equipment
- Quality and compliance standards
