Depending on your patient, you may work on:

You Get One Patient at a Time

Variety doesn't have to mean chaos.

When you arrive at a patient's home, you're there for them.

You're not simultaneously keeping an eye on another treatment table.

You're not wondering whether your next patient has already checked in.

You're not trying to divide your attention between several people.

For that visit, you have one patient and one plan of care.

Treat.

Educate.

Observe.

Document.

Communicate with the OT when needed.

Then head to your next visit.

What You'll Do

Working under the direction of the supervising Occupational Therapist, you'll:

• Provide one-on-one Occupational Therapy treatments in patients' homes
  
• Carry out individualized treatment plans established by the OT
  
• Help patients improve activities of daily living
  
• Provide therapeutic activities and exercises
  
• Address upper-extremity strength, coordination, and functional use
  
• Reinforce home exercise programs
  
• Teach adaptive and compensatory techniques
  
• Educate patients and caregivers
  
• Reinforce safe use of adaptive equipment
  
• Monitor patient response to treatment
  
• Recognize and communicate changes in patient status
  
• Report progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  
• Collaborate with PT, nursing, SLP, physicians, and interdisciplinary clinicians
  
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation

What We're Looking For

• Active Minnesota Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
  
• Strong understanding of ADLs and functional rehabilitation
  
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  
• Ability to work independently
  
• Strong organization and time management
  
• Confidence providing care in patients' homes
  
• Strong collaboration with supervising Occupational Therapists
  
• Ability to recognize and communicate changes in patient status
  
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
