Senior Accountant

Manufacturing Company – East Metro

SUMMARY

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in the East Metro, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of key accounting functions, financial reporting processes, and business-critical analysis.

This position is responsible for supporting the month-end and year-end close, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reporting, assisting with audits, and partnering with various areas of the business to provide financial insight and support. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, identifying and resolving issues, and improving accounting processes and controls.

This is a hands-on Senior Accountant opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who can step into the role and contribute with limited day-to-day supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reporting schedules, and supporting analyses
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity
• Manage assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts and related reconciliations
• Support fixed asset accounting, inventory accounting, and related analysis
• Assist with cash flow reporting and analysis
• Analyze financial and operational results and provide meaningful insights to leadership
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and management reporting
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies, system issues, and process inefficiencies
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, including account coding and classifications
• Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance, analysis, and support
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve reporting
• Support tax compliance, regulatory filings, and other required reporting
• Research and apply accounting guidance to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation and respond to auditor requests
• Participate in ERP projects, system enhancements, testing, and implementations as a finance resource
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other members of the accounting/finance team
• Maintain documentation, standard procedures, and internal controls for assigned accounting processes
• Assist with special projects and other accounting-related initiatives as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required
• Minimum of four years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior Senior Accountant-level experience required
• Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with an ERP system; experience with a major ERP platform preferred
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, reconciliation, and organizational skills
• Cost accounting experience preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment
• Prior leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred
