Transportation Specialist

Execute daily transportation planning activities, including scheduling, tracking, and tracing shipments from regional distribution centers to customers to ensure on-time delivery. About the Role Manage and tender shipments across multiple modes, including Full Truckload (FTL), Less Than Truckload (LTL), and intermodal, while optimizing service and cost efficiency. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with internal business units and external transportation carriers to coordinate shipments, resolve issues, and maintain strong working relationships. Monitor transportation costs for each movement, ensuring adherence to budget targets, while proactively engaging carriers to maintain high service levels and reliability. Analyze and report on transportation performance, including cost and tender metrics, through weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to support continuous improvement and decision-making. Qualifications Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Business Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field Required Skills Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) for planning and execution Preferred Skills Experience Required: 2+ years of relevant professional experience Experience with Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) Pay range and compensation package: $32.50/hr on w2 without benefits Contract duration: 6 months with possiblity of extension #J-18808-Ljbffr
