About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular Progressive Care – North Carolina**Start Date:** June 15, 2026**Location:** North Carolina**Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants**Schedule:** 40-bed cardiovascular progressive care unit. Patient ratio 1:5. Minimum of 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per 6-week schedule period. Day shift includes charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs, and unit clerk support. Night shift similarly staffed. No on-call required.**Highlights:**- Specialize in cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients including open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR), thoracic lung procedures, and vascular interventions (AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomy)- Manage complex cardiac drips including phenylephrine, dobutamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin, plus epidural management and chest tube care- Work in a fast-paced, 40-bed stepdown environment with telemetry monitoring using Baxter IV pumps and Cerner EMR- Collaborate with approximately 100 nursing staff members in a supportive team environment- Float opportunities to other stepdown and medical-surgical units as needed- Comprehensive cardiac surgery patient population including overflow medical cardiology cases**Requirements:**- Active RN license- Current ACLS and BLS certifications- Stepdown experience required- Telemetry experience required- Prior cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery population experience strongly preferred (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass within the past year)- CVICU experience preferred**Why It's a Great Opportunity:**This position offers the chance to work with a complex cardiovascular patient population in a well-supported stepdown environment.
