Summary / Objective Responsible for supporting Commercial and Business Lending by analyzing commercial credit opportunities, recommending appropriate lending structures, delivering quality credit memos with support and participating in the annual review process. Day to day work will include cash flow analysis, spreading business financials and tax returns, spreading guarantor financials and tax returns, and other business and commercial underwriting functions. The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst is expected to take the initiative to make improvements to business services procedures and processes to enhance the work environment and member experience. The incumbent will help ensure adherence to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the Credit Union, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Essential Functions Analyzes business and commercial credit opportunities and prepares written credit memos for new lending opportunities, renewals, modifications, etc. Conducts financial analyses of personal, business, and commercial tax returns and financial statements, collateral, cash flows, real estate schedules, pro forma statements and A/R agings. Evaluates key financial metrics to include, but not limited to, cash flow, debt service coverage, leverage, liquidity, collateral loan‑to‑values, risk analysis, etc. Generates quality credit memos for credit committee with all necessary accurate, thorough and thoughtful supporting documentation. Assists with managing the commercial loan portfolio to include, but not limited to, document tracking, reporting, and covenant monitoring. Assists members and internal departments with research and resolution of problems relating to business services commercial lending products, including support to Business and Commercial Lending teammates as needed. Ensures the integrity of loan origination and review processes by validating accurate loan data and confirming recommendations align with lending policies and all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations governing the Credit Union, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Partners with the internal Business Intelligence, IT, and other supporting teams to deliver and communicate critical performance data related to commercial products and services and other technology initiatives and enhancements. Required Skills, Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business management or closely related field or equivalent experience. 7+ years of experience as commercial underwriter or closely related position working with credit analysis of business and personal financials. Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending experience is required. Good working knowledge of state and federal regulations, lending standards, financial products, and credit union operations. Strong familiarity with financial concepts and analytical frameworks, to include DSCR, global cash flow, key performance indicators, etc. Ability to present analysis, recommendations, and solutions to internal commercial lending teammates. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Must be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.). Preferred Skills, Education and Experience Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business management or related field is a plus. Additional commercial underwriting training is preferred. Experience with common financial institution technologies is a plus, including Abrigo, Jack Henry, imaging software, and Synergy. Experience with Loan Origination Systems (LOS), especially Abrigo, a plus. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work Full‑time / 40 hours per week Compensation Information The person hired into this position will likely earn between $95,796 and $119,745 annual salary, plus annual bonus. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
