Job Title: Plumber / Pipefitter
Job Description

This role involves working as part of a plumbing team on industrial, commercial, and new construction projects. You will handle the full scope of plumbing and pipefitting work, including trenching for piping, installing and servicing plumbing systems, completing water hook ups, and performing service calls and new installations. You will contribute to a wide range of tasks within the plumbing department and support projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a plumbing team on industrial, commercial, and new build projects.
• Perform all aspects of plumbing work, including digging trenches for pipe installation.
• Install, service, and maintain plumbing and piping systems according to specifications and codes.
• Complete water hook ups and ensure proper connection and function of all related systems.
• Carry out pipefitting tasks, including layout, assembly, and installation of piping.
• Respond to service calls to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints to plan and execute plumbing and piping installations.
• Coordinate with other plumbers and apprentices to complete projects efficiently and safely.
• Follow safety procedures and best practices while working on job sites.
• Document work performed and communicate project status to the team as needed.

• Hands-on plumbing experience in industrial, commercial, or new construction environments.
• Experience with PVC piping installation and general piping work.
• Ability to perform plumbing service calls, including troubleshooting and repairs.
• Pipefitting experience, including installation and assembly of piping systems.
• Ability to perform water hook ups safely and accurately.
• Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints for plumbing and piping layouts.
• Comfort working on both new installations and existing system service work.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team with other plumbers and apprentices.

• Journeyman card in plumbing or pipefitting (preferred).
• Prior experience in both service and new installation environments.
• Familiarity with industrial and commercial plumbing systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to industry standards and codes.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift role, typically running from approximately 6:00–7:00 a.m. to 3:00–4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will work primarily on job sites, handling industrial, commercial, and new construction plumbing and piping projects. The position is team-oriented, with daily collaboration alongside other plumbers and apprentices. The work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, physical tasks such as trenching and installation, and the use of standard plumbing tools and equipment. Dress expectations align with typical construction and trade work settings, emphasizing safety, practicality, and readiness for hands-on field work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Kentwood, MI.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
