Fund Accounting Associate/Manager

Russell Tobin is hiring for a Fund Accounting Associate/Manager within a growing Alternative Investment Services team. This is a great opportunity to work on complex fund structures across hedge funds and private equity while gaining strong exposure to investor allocations and financial reporting. Locations: Hackensack, NJ | Edison, NJ | Wall Street, NY Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week required Contract: 6-month temp-to-perm opportunity Pay: $40–$42/hour What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining fund books and records and supporting investor-level accounting. Key responsibilities include: Calculating NAV (daily, monthly, quarterly) and preparing investor statements Allocating income/loss across fund structures and calculating management & incentive fees Preparing capital calls, distributions, and rebalancing calculations Interpreting legal documents and translating them into Excel-based models Partnering with operations, investor relations, and auditors during reporting cycles You’ll also work across multiple client relationships, supporting both hedge funds and private equity funds. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of experience in alternative investments Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial models Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve complex problems independently Clear communication skills and a client-focused mindset Why This Role?
