Job Type Full‑time Responsibilities As a Funeral Director/Embalmer, you will: Meet with clients to make funeral arrangements, explain service options, assist in casket selection, provide pricing information, and prepare standardized contracts. Perform technical embalming services. Finalize details discussed during arrangement conferences, ensuring appropriate tracking and compliance documents. Direct funeral services and visitations, including greeting family members, opening the parlor, coordinating and instructing pallbearers, escorting clergy to the chapel, and serving as a hearse or limousine driver when required. Prepare or coordinate permits and documents associated with funerals and embalming, such as death certificates, coroner permits, and embalming case studies. Remove and transport deceased individuals from home or hospital to the funeral home. Maintain cleanliness of the preparation room and equipment. Perform all other related functions as assigned. Must be a licensed funeral director and embalmer or be able to obtain a state license. Graduated from an accredited school of embalming or mortuary science. Strong concentration and attention to detail over extended periods. Ability to stand, walk, lift or push occasionally. Valid state driver's license. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with a team. Availability to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed. Compensation The pay range for this role is based on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions regardless of race, gender, age, religion, or any other protected characteristic. They include skill set, experience and training, licensure and certification, and other business and organizational needs. This range estimate has been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
